2013 Sherco Australian Womens Cup

The Trials Club of Canberra (TCC), with support from sponsors Sherco Motorcycles, Monza Imports and Vivid Print, will host the 2013 Sherco Australian Women’s Cup. This year, the event will be held at the new, purpose built Trials facility at Fairbairn Park, Pialligo Ave Canberra on Saturday 27 April 2013.

This will be the 12th consecutive running of the pinnacle event of MotoTrials in Australia, specifically for women. The Trials Club of Canberra were successful in obtaining a motorsport grant from the ACT Government.  TCC has injected much time, sweat and energy into the design and development of a site specifically for Trials riders at the Fairbairn Park Motorsports’ complex.

Kristie McKinnon, #1 Australian Trials rider and currently #9th in the World, will attempt to retain her crown against up and coming younger riders. Kristie has won the previous two Women’s Cups and has won three overall. Bev Anderson, Canberra’s former international Trials rider, will be competing in the Master’s Women Class and will encounter stiff opposition from several opponents. Bev’s daughter Brooke will also contest her grade against young women.

The Sherco Australian Women’s Cup will be supported with an Open Trial for men and sons in a variety of grades.

The use and development of the Fairbairn Motorsport Complex has allowed Canberra and interstate Trials riders the ability to easily access a local venue with a variety of terrain, following the closure of Stromlo forest to motorcycle use after the Canberra fires of 2003. The Trials Club of Canberra are confident of a well attended event with free entry for spectators.
