Taree gets $100,000 track upgrade

Taree Motorcycle Track will receive a $100,000 upgrade partly due to growing interest in the Troy Bayliss Classic.

The 2016 Motul Pirelli Troy Bayliss Classic will be the first major race meeting to be held at Taree Motorcycle Club following upgrades to the track surface, fencing and speakers made possible as a result a funding grant from the State Government.

Event Organiser Troy Bayliss said the recent funding boost from the NSW Government for the Taree Motorcycle Club would ensure the event continued to grow.

“It is going to be another fantastic event,” Bayliss said.

“The funding support from the NSW Government will help improve the facilities and ensure the Troy Bayliss Classic’s longevity as a major event for Taree and the motorcycle community Australia wide.”

Reigning AMA Pro Grand National champion and 2015 Troy Bayliss Classic winner Jared Mees is confirmed to return and defend his title along with the events 2014 winner Troy Bayliss and 2013 winner Michael Kirkness.

“Over the coming (weeks) we will reveal our other international guests and I can confirm it will be the best line-up we have ever had.

“The team is working hard to ensure all visitors will be entertained with great racing and off track activities all day long,” Bayliss said.
