Motorclassica not just for cars

Motorclassica is one of Australia’s premier classic car events and this year will hold special interest for motorcycle enthusiasts.  Motorclassica will be held at Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building, October 25-27.

This year’s Motorclassica is focusing on motorcycles as much as cars, particularly with its celebration of 110 Years of Harley Davidson with a display of significant models from the earliest, a 1000cc Twin Two Speed from 1914 to the latest, a 2013 Road King Anniversary model. Manufacturers Triumph and Benelli will also be displaying their latest models, as will a number of custom cycle manufacturers.

Motorclassica’s annual International Concours d’Elegance will feature almost 50 significant motorcycles competing for the title best in show including the world’s fastest Velocette, a rare 1937 Zundapp K500 and 1944 WL and sidecar, and the only 2013 Confederate R131 Fighter in Australia as well as a collection of 10 iconic 1980s Japanese motorcycles.

The ‘Club Sandwich’ display outside will feature Australia’s only ‘Globe of Death’ and a number of motorcycle clubs throughout the weekend.
