Egan Mastin wins Australian Junior MX Championship

Taking an impressive five wins from five starts, Honda Junior Motocross rider Egan Mastin seized the highly competitive 250cc 13/U15 years class victory with ease at the Australian Junior Motocross Championship in Horsham last week.

In his first season with Honda on board the championship winning CRF250R, the young New South Wales rider has shown determination in 2013 having bounced back from what was an injury riddled season in 2012 to achieve excellent results.

Honda Racing Team Manager Chris Woods was incredibly impressed with Egan’s performance; “Egan put in a fantastic effort, he was a level above everyone else and we really couldn’t have asked for more.”

Pleased to have had Egan on board a Honda for the 2013 season, Honda Motorcycles National Manager Marketing Glyn Griffiths was extremely happy with the results. “To see Honda’s CRF250R yet again achieve victory is a great result, in 2012 it took riders Ford Dale and Gavin Faith to the MX Nationals Pro Lites and Supercross Pro Lites victories respectively, and Gavin Faith is currently joint leader in this year’s Supercross Pro Lites.”

Honda teammate Andy Dinicol who was also on board Honda’s CRF250R but in the 15 Years 250cc category, made some good progress during the intense five day event. After setting some good times and placing in his heats he raced to finish 11th overall.

Honda Australia has a proud history of supporting junior motocross riders. In recent years, Honda has seen great success with riders such as Kade Mosig, Shaun Williamson, Matt Moss, Dylan Berwick, Nick Scott, Jacob Wright, Jayden Rykers, Wade Carter and Matt Philips.
