Demmery set for Malaysian GP

Junior road racer Brandon Demmery has received an invitation to race at the next Malaysian MotoGP to be held in Sepang, October 11-13.

Brandon, aged 16, will contest the SIC support class aboard his Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show-branded Kawasaki Ninja 250, with the invitation issued as a result of his outstanding success in the 2013 Australian 250 Production Championship.

Brandon has already claimed the Victorian State Title and is 13 points ahead of his nearest rival going into the final round of the Australian Championship at Phillip Island, October 4-6.

“We are extremely proud of Brandon and everything he’s achieved this year so far, and what is pleasing to see is that this hasn’t gone unnoticed internationally, with Brandon given the opportunity to compete against the best in the world in his class at the Malaysian MotoGP,” said Mal Jarrett, Exhibition Manager for the Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show.

“Brandon is a great young ambassador for motorcycling and we wish him all the very best for his first international ride.”

The 2013 Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show came on board as a major sponsor of Brandon this year after the promising motorcycle rider was dealt a cruel blow when his family’s race trailer containing all of their race gear was stolen.

The sponsorship funds provided by the 2013 Sydney Motorcycle & Scooter Show has helped the Demmery family to replace much of the stolen gear built up over the past decade.
