GYTR Yamaha’s Jay Wilson has put the finishing touches on a superb Australian Supercross Championship by taking second place at the final round in Toowoomba, in the process winning the 2013 Under 19’s title on his YZ250F.

Needing only a mature ride in the final round, Wilson maintained second place in the 15 lap final to secure the championship win.

After winning the championship, Wilson admitted that the nerves were “Like walking on egg shells” leading up to the final event.

Admitting the Toowoomba event wasn’t his best race, Wilson “Had to keep one eye one the race and the other on the championship”.

The Yamaha YZ250F team had a successful night in Toowoomba, with Luke Styke winning the Pro Lites and Wilson Todd taking the chequered flag in Junior Lites.
