Reed scores back-to-back podiums

Chad Reed (Discount Tire Racing/TwoTwo Motorsports), has backed up his victory in Anaheim with a third place finish at the fourth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, at Oakland’s O.co Coliseum tonight.

The proud Aussie, who celebrated Australia Day by donning green and gold riding apparel throughout practice, once again progressed straight to the ‘Main Event’ after finishing his heat race in second place.

Reed got a good start in the final and quickly moved into second place behind race leader Ryan Villopoto. He held second until Lap 13 of the 20-lap duel, but was passed by James Stewart and relegated to third.

“It is good to get a podium and good for points,” Reed said. “I had a solid week leading into this event and my starts tonight were really good.

“For me that quad jump drove me nuts all day I couldn’t find a rhythm when I jumped it and each time I did it, felt like the first time.

“There were definitely some improvements tonight over what I wanted to fix from last week, we were better in the beginning but worse at the end.

“You live and learn, even after 13 seasons there is still a lot to learn that is why we love doing it and that is why I wake up in the morning and I believe I can still be better,” he continued.
