Meghan Rutledge on the podium in Slovenia

Meghan Rutledge has finished on the podium with a third in the second round of the Women’s MX World Championship. Rutledge’s third place keeps her second place overall in the Championship.

With a KX250F supplied by Team Rockstar Bud Racing Kawasaki, 18 year old Meghan Rutledge was able to capitalise on her second place finish at the series opener with another podium finish in Slovenia. Meghan raced to 3-3 results for third overall and now sits 16 points shy of the series leader with 6 rounds remaining.

Meghan Rutledge said: “I’m so happy to be on the podium again. I’m happy with the way I rode but I know I can do better. I didn’t get a really good start in the first race and it took me a while to get around some riders and really start chasing and in the second moto I had a crash on the first lap and had to regroup from that but all in all, a good result and I can’t wait for Italy next weekend.”

“It’s been a real steep learning curve for me over here. I’m trying to adjust to life and racing over here as quickly as I can and to get good results like I did really helps. I wouldn’t be here without the support of Bud Kawasaki and Kawasaki and I’d like to give a big thank you to Troy Campbell from Easternwell back in Australia. I wouldn’t be here without his support.”

Meghan heads to Italy for the third round of the series this weekend. Meghan will then race in Croatia on July 7th before heading back to Australia to compete at the Appin round of the Monster Energy MX Nationals and train for X-Games in Los Angeles, USA.
