Marquez wins 2013 BMW M Award

Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez has won the BMW M Award as Best Qualifier of the 2013 season, in addition to having the chance of winning his first premier class title on Sunday.

With nine pole positions and a further six front row starts, Marquez has accumulated 367 points in the race to become the Best Qualifier, 56 points ahead of Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo in second and 102 points ahead of Cal Crutchlow in third. Marquez takes home the grand prize of a brand new BMW M6 Coupé.

During the Gran Premio Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana, Marquez was handed the keys to his prize by Thomas Schemera, BMW M Commercial and Marketing Director.

It is the first time Marquez has collected the award, after he was officially confirmed as the 2013 winner at Valencia, where he qualified on pole position.
