Carlton Dry Honda Racing is backing the efforts of Emma McFerran for a second consecutive year as the female freestyle motocross sensation sets her sights on the opportunity-laden international scene.
McFerran will depart for Europe on Monday where she will be showing off her perfected backflip at the IFMXF Night of the Jumps in Berlin, the opening round of the 2013 FIM Freestyle Motocross World Championship.
The 24-year-old’s career has surged forward since her switch to the factory Honda outfit in 2012 and she is excited to be a part of the team and aboard the CRF250 once more.
“I’m hoping to do the Carlton Dry Honda Racing team proud in Europe as a way to thank them for their support again in 2013,” said McFerran.
“I’d just started landing my first backflips in the foam pit before a big crash which set me back around 6 months, and the team showed a lot of faith in backing me and getting me on my feet again.
“Riding in Berlin for Night of the Jumps is a great opportunity and one that I hope will open more doors.
“I don’t think they’ve ever seen a female backflip in Europe before so they’re bringing me over to put on a bit of a show.”
McFerran will continue to work on her array of tricks as she pursues further demonstration and competition opportunities at home and abroad.
“I’d like to move away from the kicker and eventaully start flipping comp ramps, this will make it easier to learn a few new tricks and keep developing as a rider.
“Being a part of the Carlton Dry Honda Racing team has been a huge boost to my career and I can’t wait for what the future holds.”
The IFMXF Night of the Jumps will be held from March 8-9 the O2 World Stadium in Berlin.
